June Newsletter

Some of you will be getting this newsletter for the very first time, so welcome to Isles Pool Service.

I never imagined I would be writing a newsletter involving a pandemic that stopped the world from working. It has been two months and things are finally starting to open back up. Isles Pool Service had challenges within our staff, but fortunately none of them contracted the virus. Like most companies out there, we provided our staff with instructions, masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers when we could find them. Of course, toilet paper was nowhere to be found. Our suppliers changed their methods to ensure everybody’s safety, keeping hundreds of pool cleaners outside and causing long lines and delays, a small price to pay to ensure everyone’s safety. Most of that has stabilized now, but repair parts are just now becoming hard to get, many of the factories that make these parts have been shut down. The local warehouses are using up their supplies and the trucks are not arriving to restock. These effects will probably linger on for months.

We are relatively fortunate in Florida. Our numbers are not acceptable, but also nowhere near the worst. If your going to have to shelter at home, can you think of a better place? As expected, we all jumped onto our boats and into our pools. We enjoyed the water, the sun, and the family we were trapped with. You know what, it turns out they are pretty nice people. And the rest of us, the people who don’t know each other, not bad either. Yes we all saw the crazy guy outside the supermarket on the 6 o’clock news. But for the most part, we all just put on our masks and went about our day respecting other, their social space, and the new rules we have to live by. I think we did well as Americans. As long as we don’t get complacent, I hope this will all go away in a few months and life will return to normal.

If you’re getting ready to head out of state for the season, don’t forget to turn off those heaters. We have heat pump covers available to protect your equipment from the sun. Just give us a call.

We at Isles pool Service want to thank you for your continued support during this unique time. We certainly hope that your family and friends did not contract the virus and wish you well if they did. We wish you continued health and happiness.

Isles Pool Service can accept payment by cash, check, or charge. We can automatically debit your bank account or charge card on the first of each month. We install heat pumps, LED color changing lights, filters, and salt systems. We can even resurface your pool. Yes, we can do all that!

March Newsletter

Some of you will be getting this newsletter for the very first time, so welcome to Isles Pool Service.

In February, we took some of our staff to Orlando for the industry trade show. We all took classes so that we can better serve our customers. Topics ranged from water chemistry to management courses. We all learned something and brought it back to share with the whole company. We have been attending this show for many years and it’s always a worthwhile experience. It’s also a great time to enjoy each other’s company.

Days before the show, a customer asked if there was a cover available that he could install onto his heat pump while he was away for the summer. I had never seen one, so I told him no. Guess what we found at the trade show? That’s right, a Florida company is now making heat pump covers. They’re vinyl on the outside and have a “woven lined interior”. One size fits all because they have Velcro flaps and a drawstring. They’re even vented. Let us know if you’re interested and we can drop one off.

Are you sick and tired of going out to your pool equipment to turn valves, adjust the clock, and flip switches? Would you like to do it all by remote control? Maybe from your phone, in Iowa. We can help with that to. The price of automation has come way down in recent years. Call us and ask about EasyTouch or IntelliConnect. We can make your pool easier to operate than ever before.

Well that’s it for now. Have a great March!
